This infill development project involving 30 individual homes and 32 apartments is located between Karrestraat and Kopkapelstraat in Lokeren. The formerly industrial site was cleaned up and parcelled out.

Project Description

Homes with direct access to the street are planned in the areas bordering the site, while the spaces at the lot boundaries on which building is not allowed are given the function of private gardens.

Three apartment buildings stand in the middle of the site. They are connected to a central public green area and an underground car park. A road servicing the whole site runs along this green area.

Just like the buildings in the immediate vicinity, the houses rise to a maximum of two storeys, with a sloping roof. The wavy roof line conveys a certain playful character to the row of houses. Even though different materials are used for the terraced houses, aesthetically, they form a whole.
