This new build project will include 29 apartments spread over 4 multi-storey apartment blocks. It will accommodate an underground car park with individual storage and bicycle racks. The apartment buildings are planned within extensive park grounds with an existing manor house. This house, which is being renovated into a family home, determines the scale of new buildings.

Project Description

Closed groups of tall trees in the park provide a division into a series of open “rooms”. The new homes are planned as sculptures in the park. The existing green rooms and some axes in the park looking onto the existing country house form the basis of the specific site layout. The building’s breathing space and image are maintained as a result.

The new buildings are sculptural, over three or four storeys, and are laid out in pairs. The texture created by the brick render is reminiscent of tree bark. The underground car park can be found below one of these pairs. Near the other pair, car parking is at ground level, integrated into the landscaping.

One, two and three bedroom apartments are spread around the buildings. Each apartment has a spacious yet highly private balcony. For the apartments on the ground floor, these terraces are part of the landscaping.
