The design comprises a new, unified whole which is fully integrated into and blended to the surrounding environment and existing fabric.

The first floor of the structure, with its concrete awning and columns, serves as a pedestal on which the remaining structures rest. These have a uniform architectural allure and scale, comprising a single entity together with the bearing structure.

The edifice as a whole, with its protruding structures, is clustered around a courtyard area with green gardens and paths in water-permeable materials. This ensures an optimum orientation and varied views for all residential units.

The rather stark structures and their façades are articulated in terms of their architecture by protruding and recessed terraces, awnings and galleries. This architectural detailing is extended to the sloping roofs, which are also provided with both recessed terraces and protruding dormers.

Project Description

The building is conceived in three functional horizontal layers:

The residential units are located above the pedestal.
In addition to housing, the pedestal on the ground floor also contains a number of elements intended for communal and public use, such as covered outdoor areas, bicycle parking facilities, access to the underground car park, lift entrances and stairwells.
A parking garage across the entire depth of the site will be built underneath the buildings and the green, outdoor areas.

The façades are provided with nuanced red masonry with concrete elements and terraces. The exterior joinery is in black aluminium and clear glass. Parapets are either fitted with white bars or clear glazing.

The sloping roofs are fitted with red roof tiles and recessed gutters. The sides of the recessed terraces or protruding dormer windows are finished in black and white aluminium sheets, respectively.
