A 249-room hotel will be built on the site of the former business centre, a stone’s throw away from the new Ghelamco Arena in Ghent. The organic shape of the building gives the hotel a distinctive character. The volume is pitched in a U-shape from low to high, with the highest point at the height of Akkerhage. The façade’s glazed architecture forms a continuum with the other buildings on the Artevelde site, such as the Ghelamco Arena, the offices and the Brico Plan-It DIY store.

Project Description

The lobby, breakfast restaurant, the services rooms, staff areas and some small meeting rooms are situated on the ground floor and first floor. At the highest point, a bar offers panoramic views over the city. There is an underground car park for about three hundred cars. The car park can be entered via Akkerhage and the Ottergemsesteenweg, which ensures access during football events as well.

This building on the Artevelde site also has a resolutely green image, obtained through maximum insulation value, water recycling and solar heaters.
