Ghent

Concept

Sofitel Gent is a new centrally located complex made up of the Sofitel-Belfort Hotel, three floors of office space and two levels of underground car parking. The hotel has 127 rooms and a floor area of 4,000 m², and the offices cover an area of approximately 3,035 m².

The design is a prime example of integrating architectural styles – the buildings harmoniously counter the Gothic style of the nearby city hall. The two existing, restored facades on the Belfortstraat were intended as a homage to the architects Victor Horta and Henry van de Velde.
